"Iron sharpens Iron" The peer group gives our young men/women a voice as well as attention. It allows the young people to discuss and learn from each other about an issue that they share. Staff members help guide the youth toward positive alternate actions that are pleasing in the sight of God. Young people also learn to appreciate and respect one another through the rules and discipline of the group. Each group has a four year age bracket: {10-13} {14-17} {18-21} {22-25}
This gives the youth a group of their peers and helps them to learn from the challenges of others. The peer group is designed to allow the older members of the group to serve as positive role models for the younger members. This in turn helps to build self esteem, initiative, and create motivation to succeed.
We separate the two sexes during this time to prevent sex/gender from being a hinderance or obstacle to a breakthrough. Although there are times when we have a general "Rap Session" where all can be heard and feedback can be given to all.

**Most youth that are at risk, possess a "trapped" mentality that needs to be addressed.**
We can learn from information just as we can learn from experiences.
